 Jeremy Gill is a senior studying Criminal Justice while tackling down a Chemistry minor. He is originally from Detroit, Michigan but is glad he found his way to the swamps of Louisiana. Throughout his career at LSUS, he has served as the Biology club’s SOC(Student Organization Council) officer, accumulated a 3.87 GPA, and has earned the award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in the Forensics concentration of Criminal Justice. In between studies, he can be seen jogging in our health building’s track, conducting undergraduate research in the Science building, or studying in the University Center’s computer lab. Jeremy also works in the UC office and loves to share his knowledge of our school to newer students. He is proud and excited to serve as an SGA senator!

Orland Daniel

 Orland Daniel is majoring in Secondary Education with a concentration of Social Studies. He was born in Manila, Philippines and currently resides in Vivian, Louisiana. On campus, he has served in various positions for Catholic Student Union. He is also a cantor in-training at his church. He is a lover of his history and cultures. Orland also has a secret passion for reading and writing romantic, young adult novels. He is thrilled to be a part of the SGA so he may take part in making a positive impact on campus. A fun fact, Orland collects coffee mugs in both regular and travel size. He is especially keen in having ones that contain logos from Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, or the Louisiana Sports team on it!

Arlecia Dantzler

Arlecia Dantzler is a senior here at LSUS majoring in general studies with a concentration of Social Science. She is a part of various clubs and organizations on campus and is honored to be a senator representing our great student body. She loves supporting LSUS athletics and participating in pageants. Arlecia loves to joke and laugh, even at the corny jokes. She lives to serve others in the community and to keep others motivated. It is what makes her eager to take on the each day.

Amane Ali

Class: Sophomore 
Major: Cellular and Molecular Biology


Bio:  Amane is a native of Wisconsin and a proud alumna of Caddo Magnet High School.  
She enjoys engaging in activities that help improve the growth of the community, volunteer in a clinic and spread her love for peace and people. Amane plans on spending her near future practicing medicine as a Physician Assistant, specializing in pediatrics or surgery. She chose to be-come a senator at LSUS because she believes that in order to create change, you must help with the change. She also wants to promote the growth of the pride in student culture and help change the lives of other students while at LSUS.

 
Fun Fact: I love traveling around the world and trying different foods!

Kaleigh Newman

CLASS: Junior

MAJOR: Molecular and Cellular Biology

 

BIO: Kaleigh Newman is a junior molecular and cellular major. She strives to become a dentist and own her own practice one day. Kaleigh originally began her college career at Louisiana Tech then decided that LSUS would better suit her. This is her first year as a senator for the SGA. She is also involved in a several other clubs including the Pre-dental society, AED, chemistry club, and is a member of the cross country team. Kaleigh spends her free time volunteering for Robinson’s Rescue and spending time with family.

 

Fun Fact: Kaleigh is very obsessed with her dog, Deuce, and takes him everywhere with her. 

Vishwa Shah

Class: Sophmore
Major: Biochemistry


Vishwa was born in India. She moved to America 6 years ago in the pursuit of a better education. She enjoys art and reading. She hopes to pursue a career as a doctor in the future. She became a senator to make sure the student body is heard. She is hoping to get more students involved on campus.

Mary Yerrou

Class- Junior
Major- Psychology 

 

BIO: Mary is a native of Dalton, Ga. She is also a member of International Student Organization and the Nonprofit Administration Student Organization at LSUS. Mary plans to attend law school in Fall 2018 hoping to become a criminal defense attorney. She became a senator to give the student body a voice. She felt as though she can properly represent the student body, because of her diversity. She hopes to make as much change as possible, and she is not afraid to be heard, so if you have any concerns or wants and see her around campus don't be shy to express it to her. Her favorite spot to study is in the library, so catch her in there to have a chat! 

Jarett "Prince" Lofton

Class: Senior

Major: General Studies w/ concentration in Political Science
 

Bio:  Jarrett is a native of Shreveport, La and is aproudalumni of Southwood High school.  He enjoys engaging in activities that help improve his own personal development, and in activities that encompass involving and improving the community.  Jarrett plans on spending his near future practicing law and developing corporate businesses.    He chose to become a senator at where he calls the “Premiere” university of Louisiana, because he believes that uplifting student moral, improve student resources, and creating a culture of pride at LSUS is going to help change the lives of the students during their tenure at this “Premiere” institution and there-after.

Tony Agilefo

CLASS: Graduate Student

 Tony Agulefo is currently a MBA program student from Dallas, Texas. He recently graduated from LSU Shreveport in May 2017 with a General Studies degree with the concentrations in Marketing and Real Estate. During his undergraduate program, he learned and experimented various of ways organizations can utilize marketing and digital media in advancing their goals. In his spare time, he takes part in film-making and creating digital content for multiple organizations. In the past, Tony has served as the Chair of Ideas and Issues in the Student Activities Board. He looks forward to serving the LSU Shreveport student body as your SGA senator!

Hannah Staton

  Hannah Staton is currently a Sophomore Community Health Pre Physical Therapy major and hopes to pursue a career in medicine one day. She is a native of Madison, Mississippi and in addition to serving as an SGA senator, she is a proud member of Phi Mu Fraternity at LSU Shreveport. Hannah serves as T-Shirt Chair for Phi Mu Fraternity and is head of the Marketing Committee for SGA. For three consecutive semesters she has been recognized for her overall 4.0 GPA on the Chancellor’s list and earned the Academic Standard of Excellence Award for Greek members. Hannah hopes to be able to serve as an advocate and voice for her peers and fellow students and loves to offer a helping hand anywhere there is a need. 

George Pabst

 George Pabst is majoring in history with a concentration of political science. He is born and raised from Shreveport, Louisiana. George is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and the SGA. He works as a Junior Varsity Coach at Byrd High school and serves tables at Blind Tiger in downtown Shreveport. As well as working, he helps around the local community and institutions that believe in education, universal health care, and cultural awareness, which are some of the biggest issues plaguing our country presently.

Jakob Volcheck, a junior History major, is a transfer student who came to LSUS in the spring of 2017. Although a New Yorker at heart, he has fallen in love with all the great food and culture that Louisiana has to offer. He has lived in Louisiana for five years and spent the first two years of college at Bossier Parish Community College, where he received a full ride debate scholarship. He was Captain of the Debate team and won a gold medal in extemporaneous speaking at Skills USA Nationals 2016. He came to LSUS to debate and is currently the vice president of the debate team under Coach Trey Gibson. On campus you might find him with his fraternity, Tau Kappa Epsilon, or studying in the Noel Library. Outside of school, he is passionate about swimming, and is a swim instructor at the YMCA and member of US Masters Swimming

Jaleah is also a member of the English club and is a Nike Community Ambassador, where she has the opportunity to help tutor and engage in athletic activities with elementary school students. She enjoys reading, writing, and cooking, and her two favorite places are the gym and the library. Side note, she loves fruit!

  1. Kate Inchun was born in Los Angeles, CA but grew up in Houston, Texas. She is majoring Forensic Science and already has an Associate’s Degree in Biological Sciences from Garden City Community College. Kate is a part of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, was a part of the Track and Field team at GCCC, and is a former member of the LSUS Women’s Basketball team, 2017 Conference Tournament Champions. She is currently a member of LSUS Cross Country and the International Student Association. She did important research at the Nanotechnology Innovation Center at Kansas State University participating in KS-LSAMP.

Christopher Floyd

  is the President of the English Club at LSUS, and serves as Secretary for the Student Organization Council. As a future educator of English and Literature, an avid writer, and a proud LSUS Pilot, he believes the keys to change are creativity and imagination. As a Junior majoring in English, his primary academic goal is to promote his degree program. He does this through recruiting events at high schools, where he actively engages in discussion with students soon to enter college life. As a Senator for the Student Government Association, he furthers another goal of his: representing the student body. Using his own creativity and imagination, he plans to enhance the student experience and advocate the University’s social image.

Zachary Temple is a junior here at LSUS. He is from Stanley, Louisiana and majors in Cellular and Molecular Biology. As well as being a senator in the LSUS SGA, he is the Vice-President of Alpha Epsilon Delta and a member of the Chemistry club here on campus. Outside of school, he enjoys volunteering at the Willis-Knighton Hospice. In the near future, he wishes to attend medical school here in Shreveport to become a physician.

 Navdeep Singh, who goes by Navi, is a sophomore double majoring in Criminal Justice and Political Science. She is an Indian that was born in Florence, Italy but raised in New York.
